Exail to supply navigation systems for Hellenic Navy's new frigates

Published on

Technology company Exail has been selected by Naval Group to provide the navigation systems for the Hellenic Navy’s new defense and intervention frigates (FDI).

The contract includes the supply of an interoperable suite of technologies, including an inertial navigation system (INS), a cybersecure data distribution unit (DDU), and a warship electronic chart display and information system (WECDIS). These systems will be integrated within the frigates’ digital architecture.

According to Exail, the FDI frigates are a new generation of multi-role naval vessels capable of a wide range of missions, including anti-air, anti-surface, and anti-submarine warfare. The company stated that its navigation systems are engineered to deliver "high performance and resilience" to support these advanced capabilities.

Pierre-Louis Roudaut, Sales Manager for Exail, said the selection reflects the company's commitment to delivering "reliable and cybersecure solutions." The contract builds on a previous collaboration between Exail and Naval Group for the navigation systems on the French Navy’s FDI frigates.
