A joint task force consisting of elements from the Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Customs seized an estimated 274 kilograms of illegal narcotics on a fishing boat in the waters of Jiwani in Balochistan province on Tuesday, October 22.
Found on board the suspect vessel, which is registered under the name Al Qambar, were 102.9 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and 171.15 kilograms of heroin. The narcotics have a total street value of Rs 2.74 billion (US$18 million).
The seized drugs have since been handed over to Pakistan Customs officials for further legal proceedings.
