Bangladesh gets 18 new patrol boats

Indonesian builder North Sea Boats and Bangladesh Navy-owned shipyard Dockyard and Engineering Works have delivered 18 new patrol vessels in a series in fulfillment of a single order placed by the government of Bangladesh.

The boats utilise a North Sea Boats proprietary design, which is derived from that of Dockstavarvet’s CB90-class fast assault craft.

Each boat has a length of 11.7 metres, a beam of 3.5 metres, a draught of 0.84 metres, and a full load displacement of 10.2 tonnes.

Ten of the patrol boats have been delivered to the Bangladesh Coast Guard while the remainder have been handed over to the Bangladesh Navy.
