Operators in Mexico and Azerbaijan have placed new tugs into service while construction continues on an inland pusher for deployment in Russia. New orders include those for emergency response tugs for use by a Turkish Government agency.

Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping welcomes new tug into service

Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) recently took delivery of a new tug built by subsidiary Zygh Ship Repair and Construction Yard.

Sarsang is the sixth tug in a series to be acquired by ASCO. The first tug, ASCO-1, was handed over in 2023.

Boluda Towage's Mexican affiliate to welcome two new tugs into service

Compania Maritima Mexicana, a Mexico-based affiliate company of Boluda Towage, will soon welcome two new escort tugs into service.

CMM Azteca (pictured) and CMM Mexico belong to a series of tugs designed by Canadian naval architecture firm Robert Allan Ltd (RAL). The tugs have since departed on their delivery voyage, sailing from Hong Kong to Mexico under their own power.

H Schramm Towage orders new tug for Northern Europe operations

German tug operator H Schramm Towage has placed an order for a new twin Z-drive tractor tug to support its harbour ship-handling, escort, and towing operations in northern Europe.

The vessel will be built to a design by Canadian naval architecture firm Robert Allan Ltd. It will be the third tug of this design in the operator’s fleet.

Turkish safety directorate taps local yard for new emergency response tugs

The Eregli Shipyard of Turkish shipbuilder Med Marine has been selected for the construction of two new emergency response tugs in a series for operation by the Turkish Directorate General of Coastal Safety (Kiyi Emniyeti Genel Mudurlugu; KEGM).

The tugs will each measure 42 metres long and will be capable of generating a bollard pull of 130 tonnes. Fitted with advanced off-ship firefighting systems in accordance with Fifi1 requirements, the tugbs will be designed to respond quickly to emergency scenarios including high-risk terminal operations.

Russia's Cherepovets Shipbuilding Plant (CSP) recently launched a new inland pusher tug ordered by local shipowner State Transport Leasing Company (STLC).

Motorist Kazakovtsev belongs to the Project TSK.395 series of tugs built by CSP for various local operators.
