Wallenius SOL's newest Ro-Ro wraps up sea trials
A new Ro-Ro vessel ordered by Swedish shipping company Wallenius SOL has completed undergoing its final series of sea trials in the Adriatic Sea.
South Enabler was built by Italian shipyard Cantiere Navale Visentini to a design by NAOS Ship and Boat Design. It will serve the ports of Turku, Paldiski, Bremerhaven, Zeebrugge, Tilbury, and Cuxhaven.
The newbuild has a length of 203 metres, a total capacity of 3,000 lane metres, and two 7,200kW main engines that deliver a speed of 22 knots.
The RINA-classed South Enabler will be delivered in the middle of May and will initially be operated under a five-year time charter contract.
Taiwan's U-Ming orders 180,000DWT bulker pair
Taiwanese shipping company U-Ming Marine Transport has selected CSSC Beihai Shipbuilding for the construction of two new 180,000DWT bulk carriers in a series.
CSSC Beihai Shipbuilding is also manufacturing a 325,000DWT ore carrier and a 210,000DWT bulk carrier for U-Ming under earlier awarded contracts.
Chinese yard delivers inland cargo ship fitted with intelligent systems
China's Hubei Zhijiang Shengmao Shipbuilding recently handed over a new inland cargo vessel powered by LNG and fitted with intelligent systems.
Zhanghang Huoyun 005 ("Changhang Cargo 005") has an LOA of 129.98 metres, a beam of 16.2 metres, a depth of 7.2 metres, and a cargo capacity of 9,706 tonnes. Construction was completed in compliance with China Classification Society (CCS) rules.
Noatum Maritime's newest LNG-fuelled car carrier sails on maiden voyage
UAE shipping company Noatum Maritime, part of the AD Ports Group's maritime and shipping cluster, has confirmed the maiden operational voyage of its newest LNG-fuelled pure car and truck carrier (PCTC).
UGR Al Samha will be utilised by Noatum Maritime's recently formed joint venture with Erkport, United Global Ro-Ro (UGR). The newbuild boasts 12 decks covering a total area of 59,331 square metres and with a total capacity of more than 7,000 CEUs.
K Line takes delivery of LNG-fuelled vehicle carrier
Japanese operator Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line) took delivery of a new LNG-powered pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) on Thursday, April 10.
Triton Highway was built by Imabari Shipbuilding. It belongs to the same series of NK-classed PCTCs as the 2021-built Century Highway Green, and the 2024-built Nereus Highway and Poseidon Highway, and the 2025-built Oceanus Highway.
