Japan's Imabari Shipbuilding has delivered the 13,932-TEU containership ONE Symphony to container shipping line Ocean Network Express.

The Singapore-flagged vessel has a length overall of 335.94 metres, a beam of 51 metres, a depth of 30.10 metres and a gross tonnage of 140,233. A MAN 7G95ME-C10.6 main engine gives a service speed of approximately 22 knots. The ship is classed by Lloyd's Register (LR).

Lashing bridges extend up to four tiers on deck. The holds and deck can accommodate refrigerated containers, and the ship can also carry dangerous goods covered by the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code.

The builder said the hull form was optimised for the speeds and draughts most frequently encountered in service. The ship is fitted with energy-saving devices, a twist rudder, low-friction hull coatings and a bow wind cover.

Imabari said these measures give the vessel an Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) approximately 60 per cent below the regulatory baseline.

A hybrid exhaust gas cleaning system (EGCS) addresses sulphur oxide limits, and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) addresses nitrogen oxide limits. A ballast water treatment system is also installed.

The yard has developed concept designs for future conversion to methanol or ammonia fuel and for the installation of CO2 capture equipment. The classification society has granted approval in principle (AIP) for these designs.

Imabari previously delivered the similarly sized ONE Strength from Marugame in September 2025, followed by ONE Serenity in December 2025. Both vessels have comparable efficiency and future-conversion provisions.
