Blount Boats signs deal allowing MAPC to build offshore crew transfer vessels

Rhode Island builder Blount Boats has signed a sub-licensing agreement with Marine Applied Physics Corp, allowing MAPC to build offshore wind farm crew transfer vessels following designs by UK builder South Boats.

MAPC will build the vessels in Maryland, making them Jones Act-compliant and free to operate in US waters.

Blount Boats has been the US’s main supplier of offshore wind since 2011, when it acquired the US licence from South Boats.

MAPC has been designing and building vessels for commercial and military customers for 32 years.
