Norway’s Bukser og Berging takes delivery of low-emission tug

TUG AND SALVAGE WEEK

Norwegian operator Bukser og Berging has taken delivery of the first of two tugs in a series built by Sanmar Shipyards of Turkey.

Named Bamse, the Robert Allan Ltd-designed vessel has an LOA of 30.45 metres, a moulded beam of 12.8 metres, and a navigational draught of 6.35 metres. Two IMO Tier III-compliant 2,200kW engines deliver a speed of 13 knots and a bollard pull of 75 tonnes.

The newbuild, which will be operated out of Brevik, is the sixth Sanmar-built tug to be delivered to the same customer.
