Contract awarded for new tug for Kenya Ports Authority

Kenya Shipyards and Turkish builder Med Marine have entered into an agreement for the construction of a new tug for operation by the Kenya Ports Authority.

The Robert Allan Ltd-designed will have a length of 30 metres, a bollard pull of 85 tonnes, and accommodations for eight crewmembers. All interior spaces will have climate control features.

The tug will be operated out of the Port of Lamu on Kenya’s Indian Ocean coast.
