Boluda Towage Europe awarded Port of Zeebrugge concession

Upon conclusion of a competitive tender procedure, the board of directors of the Port of Zeebrugge in Belgium has decided to award the concession for the towage services for the port to Boluda Towage Europe.

The contract has a duration of five years and will commence on January 1, 2021. There is also an option to extend by three years.

Eight IMO Tier III-compliant harbour towing and firefighting tugs will be deployed to serve the contract.

The eight tugs will also include the recently retrofitted Union Koala. Union Panda, another tug that will be deployed to Zeebrugge, is scheduled to undergo a similar retrofit later this year to enable it to comply with IMO Tier III emission standards.
