Pella Shipyard launches two more Raptor-class patrol boats for Russian Navy

Pella Shipyard launched two future Russian Navy patrol boats at its Saint Petersburg facilities on Wednesday, April 15.

The vessels will be the 15th and 16th Project 03160 or Raptor-class patrol boats to be built by Pella for the Russian Navy.

The boats will be used for maritime security patrols, interdiction, insertion and extraction of up to 20 troops, and search and rescue (SAR) missions in coastal and inland waters day or night.

Each patrol boat will have an LOA of 16.9 metres, a beam of 4.1 metres, a draught of 0.9 metres, a crew of three, a total installed power of 1,715 kW, and a maximum speed of 50 knots. Ballistic protection will consist of armoured hull panels and portholes with 39-millimetre-thick glass.

Armament will include one 14.5-millimetre machine gun on a remote controlled gyro-stabilised weapons mount and two swivel-mounted 7.62-millimetre machine guns.

The vessels are slated for the Russian Baltic Fleet.
