South African search and rescue (SAR) charity National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) has taken delivery of a new rigid inflatable boat (RIB) from local builder Gemini Marine Boats.

Rescue 34 measures 8.8 metres by 2.92 metres and is powered by two Suzuki 200 outboards. Up to 13 people or a maximum load of 1,838 kilograms can be accommodated.

The newbuild replaces an older, similarly named boat at the NSRI’s station at Yzerfontein on South Africa’s west coast.
