Rafnar, through Athens-based subsidiary Rafnar Hellas, delivered a new rigid inflatable boat (RIB) to the Hellenic Coast Guard on Thursday, July 9.

The boat is the first in a series of 10 that Rafnar is building for the coast guard in fulfillment of an order placed in November 2019.

The RIB has an LOA of 11 metres and two Mercury 335kW outboard engines each rated at 335 kW that deliver a maximum speed in excess of 50 knots. The crew will be protected by level three NATO anti-ballistic panels that could withstand impacts from 7.62-millimetre armour-piercing rounds.

All 10 RIBs in the series will be used for border patrols and search and rescue (SAR).
