Iceland’s Rafnar has been selected to build 10 custom-made rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) in a series for the Hellenic Coast Guard.

Each boat will have an LOA of 11 metres, level three NATO anti-ballistic protection, and two Mercury 335kW outboard engines that will deliver a top speed in excess of 50 knots.

The RIBs are to be used for border control and search and rescue (SAR) missions.

Construction will take place at the facilities of Rafnar’s Athens-based subsidiary, Rafnar Hellas.
