Austal Vietnam has launched a 94-metre high-speed catamaran ferry ordered by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago for the National Infrastructure Development Company (NIDCo).

The all-aluminium vehicle-passenger ferry, to be known as APT James, is the first vessel to be constructed by Austal Vietnam. It is now in the final stage of fitting out prior to delivery to NIDCo in the second half of 2020.

The ferry will have capacity for up to 926 passengers and 250 cars and a speed of 37.5 knots.
