Chinese yard launches all-electric tour boat for Pearl River

PASSENGER VESSEL WEEK

China’s Jianglong Shipbuilding recently launched a new all-electric vessel designed for sightseeing trips on the Pearl River in Guangdong province.

Once completed, the all-steel Zhujiang Wangzi (“Pearl River Prince”) will have an LOA of 42.5 metres, a beam of 12.5 metres, a depth of 3.3 metres, a speed of 10 knots, and seating for 486 passengers. Amenities include function rooms for private events.

The vessel is being built according to China Classification Society and China Maritime Safety Administration rules. It will be operated by Guangzhou Chenggang Tourism Development Company.
