Zhoushan City’s newest ferry enters service

PASSENGER VESSEL WEEK

A new high-speed catamaran ferry has begun operational sailings out of the city of Zhoushan in China’s Zhejiang province,

Built by Jianglong Shipbuilding for local operator Zhoushan Putuo Huandao Passenger Transport, Putuo Xiangyun has steel-aluminium construction, an LOA of 40.35 metres, a beam of 10.38 metres, and a maximum speed in excess of 23 knots. Up to 288 passengers can be accommodated on a main and upper deck, the latter also including space for a VIP cabin.

Putuo Xiangyun will be operated between the islands of Zhujiajian and Taohua in Zhejiang’s Zhoushan archipelago. In addition to providing commuter transport services, the vessel will also be operated on sightseeing trips in the waters around Zhoushan.
