Swan Hellenic names second expedition ship in series

UK cruise operator Swan Hellenic formally named its newest polar expedition ship in a ceremony at Helsinki Shipyard in Finland on Monday, July 11.

SH Vega is the second ship in a series to be built for Swan Hellenic. The class’ lead ship, SH Minerva, was delivered by Helsinki Shipyard in December 2021.

The LR-classed newbuild has a length of 113 metres, a beam of 20.2 metres, a maximum draught of 5.45 metres, and 76 passenger cabins. A cruising speed of 14.5 knots can be achieved thanks to a total installed power of 4.6 MW.

SH Vega will soon depart on its maiden voyage to Tromsø and Svalbard in Norway.
