Mitsubishi Shipbuilding has begun conducting sea trials of a new patrol vessel ordered by the Philippine Coast Guard.

The newbuilding is the first in a series of two 94-metre multi-role response vessels (MRRVs) that will be the largest ships in the Philippine Coast Guard once they formally enter service.

Upon completion, the yet unnamed vessel will be able to sail at speeds of up to 24 knots and will have an endurance of around 4,000 nautical miles.
