The Port of Galveston Police Department (POGPD) in Texas formally named its newest patrol boat in a ceremony on Tuesday, November 30.

The rigid inflatable boat (RIB) was christened Clay Garrison in honour of a POGPD officer who died of Covid-19 earlier this year.

The US$600,000 vessel was acquired partly through federal grant funding. Among its equipment is a thermal camera mounted on the pilothouse roof while power is provided by two Suzuki outboards.
