The New South Wales Police Force’s Marine Area Command recently took delivery of four new rigid inflatable boats (RIBs) in a series from Zodiac Milpro.

The vessels are each fitted with ballistic protection, a high-definition FLIR camera, and twin outboard engines. Up to 10 people can be carried by each boat.

The RIBs can be quickly reconfigured by removing all seats for fast roping operations or multi-medevac recovery operations.

The boats will be based in Newcastle, Sydney, Sans Souci, and Port Kembla and will be tasked with both inshore and offshore operations that also include counter-terrorism patrols and search and rescue.
