The Indian Navy has taken delivery of its fourth Kalvari-class diesel electric submarine.

As with its sister boats, the future INS Vela is a variant of the Scorpene-class submarines developed by the Naval Group of France and built at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders in Mumbai.

The submarine will be commissioned into service before the end of November 2021. Once operational, it will be armed with 18 torpedoes and anti-ship missiles.
