Taiwan navy’s newest minelayer hits the water

Taiwan’s Lung Teh Shipbuilding has launched the third unit in a class of four minelaying vessels slated for the Republic of China Navy (RoCN).

Once completed, the vessel will have a length of 41 metres, a beam of 8.8 metres, a draught of 1.7 metres, a displacement of 347 tonnes, and a maximum speed of 14 knots. Armament will include a 20-millimetre autocannon, two 7.62-millimetre machine guns, and an automatic minelaying system.

Delivery is scheduled for the end of 2021.
