The US Navy accepted delivery of the future USS Zumwalt, the lead ship of a new class of stealth destroyers, on Friday, April 24.

Following this delivery, the ship will transition from combat systems activation to the next phase of developmental and integrated at-sea testing.

The future Zumwalt will join the US Pacific Fleet battle force and will be homeported in San Diego, California. The destroyer, as well as its two sisters, was built by General Dynamics Bath Iron Works.
