Spanish shipyard wins US Navy vessel maintenance contract

Spanish shipyard Navantia has been awarded a contract to provide repair and maintenance support for US Navy vessels including the service’s Arleigh Burke-class destroyers.

The contract covers all US Navy vessels that make calls at the naval base in Rota, a joint facility operated by the US and Spanish navies.

The contract is firm until January 2028 and has an approximate value of €822.4 million (US$999.5 million).
