Russian Navy’s seventh Project 12700 minesweeper floated out

United Shipbuilding Corporation’s (USC) Sredne-Nevsky Shipbuilding Plant launched a new minesweeper into the water on Friday, November 26.

The future Anatoliy Shlemov is the seventh Project 12700 or Alexandrit-class minesweeper to be built for the Russian Navy.

The vessel will undergo mooring trials following the installation of additional equipment, which is ongoing while it is at berth.

Upon completion, the future Anatoliy Shlemov will have space for 44 crewmembers and will be capable of speeds of up to 16 knots. Armament will include a 30-millimetre naval gun and surface-to-air missiles.
