The future BRP Antonio Luna, the Philippine Navy’s second Jose Rizal-class guided missile frigate, was launched into the water for the first time in a ceremony at Hyundai Heavy Industries’ (HHI) shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea, on Friday, November 8.

The future Antonio Luna is scheduled to be delivered to the Philippines by the fourth quarter of 2020. Its armament will include a 76-millimetre naval gun, a 30-millimetre autocannon, four 12.7-millimetre machine guns, Mistral surface-to-air missiles (SAMs), Haeseong anti-ship missiles, and torpedoes.
