Pakistan Navy commissions first Type 054A frigate
The Pakistan Navy commissioned its first Type 054A frigate into service in a ceremony on Monday, November 8.
Built by China’s Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding, PNS Tughril is the first of a planned four Type 054A/P or Tughril-class ships, which are Type 054A frigates that have been modified to suit the specific requirements of the Pakistan Navy.
As with its sisters, Tughril will be used on anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, and anti-air warfare missions. Its area of operations will include parts of the Indian Ocean.
