New 33-metre LCU delivered to Indonesian Navy

A new landing craft utility (LCU) has been handed over to the Indonesian Navy by state-owned shipbuilder Tesco Indomaritim.

The RINA-classed, aluminium-hulled vessel has an LOA of 33 metres, a beam of seven metres, a draught of 1.4 metres, a displacement of 138 tonnes, and two Caterpillar C18 847kW engines that deliver a cruising speed of 15 knots and a maximum speed of 20 knots.

The LCU will be commissioned into service in the coming weeks.
