Vympel Shipyard recently laid the keel for a new force protection and anti-saboteur guard boat slated for the Russian Navy.

The 31-metre vessel belongs to Project 21980, also known as the Grachonok-class. Its equipment will include a specialised sonar that can detect underwater swimmers.

The vessel will be crewed by eight and will be capable of reaching speeds of 23 knots.
