Hyundai Heavy Industries lays keel of first of two Philippine Navy frigates

Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) held a keel-laying ceremony in its Ulsan shipyard for the first of two 107-metre frigates being built for the Philippine Navy on Tuesday, October 16.

The ships will be used for both anti-aircraft and anti-submarine warfare.

The first HHI-built frigage is expected to be completed in May 2019 and delivered in the second half of 2020.
