The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) frigate HMAS Parramatta has been deployed to support the international effort to enforce United Nations Security Council sanctions imposed against North Korea.

Parramatta is the third Australian vessel to deploy to the region to help ensure regional security and stability on the Korean Peninsula. The ship is currently on an East Asia deployment with Anzac-class sister frigate HMAS Stuart and the destroyer HMAS Hobart.

The frigate will work alongside international partners to monitor and deter ship-to-ship transfers of sanctioned goods.
