HII delivers future US Navy destroyer Delbert D. Black

Huntington Ingalls Industries’ (HII) Ingalls Shipbuilding division delivered the future guided missile destroyer USS Delbert D. Black to the US Navy on Friday, April 24.

The 68th Arleigh Burke-class destroyer is also the first ship to honour Delbert D. Black, the first Master Chief Petty Officer of the US Navy.

The future Delbert D. Black has a length of 160 metres, a displacement of 9,300 tonnes, and four General Electric LM2500-30 gas turbines with a combined output of 75 MW.
