Halifax Shipyard to build six Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ships for Royal Canadian Navy

Canada’s Ministry of National Defence has confirmed that the Royal Canadian Navy will receive a sixth Harry DeWolf-class Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ship (AOPS).

Like its sister vessels, the sixth AOPS will be constructed at Irving Shipbuilding’s Halifax Shipyard.

The Harry DeWolf-class ships are highly versatile platforms that can be used on a variety of missions such as coastal surveillance, search and rescue, drug interdiction, and humanitarian and disaster relief.
