Future US Navy LPD Fort Lauderdale launched

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) launched the future US Navy landing platform dock (LPD) USS Fort Lauderdale at Ingalls Shipbuilding’s facilities on Saturday, March 28.

The vessel is then scheduled to undergo final outfitting and sea trials.

The future Fort Lauderdale is the 12th San Antonio-class LPD to be built for the US Navy.
