Fincantieri launches eighth multipurpose FREMM frigate
Fincantieri has launched the eighth multipurpose FREMM frigate Antonio Marceglia in its Riva Trigoso (Genoa) shipyard in Italy.
Capable of operating in all tactical situations, the 144-metre by 19.7-metre Antonio Marceglia will have a displacement at full load of 6,700 tonnes.
The vessel will have a maximum speed of more than 27 knots and will provide accommodation for a 200-person crew.
Her fitout will continue in the Muggiano (La Spezia) shipyard, with delivery scheduled in 2019.
