Builder’s sea trials begin for Russian Navy minesweeper Pyotr Ilyichev

United Shipbuilding Corporation’s (USC) Sredne-Nevsky Shipbuilding Plant has begun conducting builder’s sea trials of the future Russian Navy minesweeper Pyotr Ilyichev.

The trials are being carried out in the Gulf of Finland and will take approximately 45 days. State acceptance trials will commence shortly afterwards.

The future Pyotr Ilyichev is the sixth vessel in the Project 12700 or Alexandrit-class minesweepers. It will be assigned to the Russian Pacific Fleet following its 2022 commissioning.
