Boustead lays keel for Malaysian navy’s fourth LCS

Boustead Naval Shipyard held a keel-laying ceremony for a new 111-metre frigate for the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) on Wednesday, October 31.

It is the fourth of an eventual six Maharaja Lela-class littoral combat ships (LCS) which will serve as the RMN’s prime surface combatants.

Like its sisters, the yet-unnamed fourth LCS was designed by Naval Group of France and will be equipped with a 57-millimetre gun, a 30-millimetre gun, surface-to-surface missiles, and surface-to-air missiles.
