Tsakos Energy Navigation reported a sharp rise in net income to $228.1 million for the first six months of 2026, up from $64.5 million in the equivalent period of 2025.

The company recorded voyage revenues of $551.4 million across the first half, supported by an average time charter equivalent rate of $43,503 per vessel per day.

During the second quarter ended June 30, net income attributable to the company reached $139.3 million, compared with $26.8 million in the prior-year period.

Second-quarter voyage revenues rose 54 per cent year on year to $298.4 million, benefiting from average time charter equivalent earnings of $46,100 per vessel per day.

Vessel operating expenses for the six-month period increased to $111 million from $102.3 million a year earlier, driven by six vessels undergoing scheduled drydocking.

Net interest and finance costs decreased to $43.4 million from $49 million, reflecting lower borrowing spreads and global interest rates.

TEN stated that fleet renewal efforts continued through the divestment of older vessels alongside deliveries from its construction programme.

Following the end of the quarter, the shipping firm took delivery of the shuttle tanker Anfield DP on July 28 and completed the sale of the Suezmax tankers Alaska and Archangel in August for net proceeds of $100 million.
