New tankers have been delivered to customers in Qatar, Greece and Japan while construction continues on new bunkering ships for operation in the Middle East and the Mediterranean.
Bapco Refining's newest bunkering vessels floated out
The Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard (ASRY) in Bahrain has launched two bunkering vessels ordered by Bapco Refining, a subsidiary of local company Bapco Energies.
Sauvir Sarkar, ASRY’s Vice President for Commercial Affairs, said that the launch starts the final phase of the vessels' construction, which will include full commissioning, tests and sea trials ahead of handover.
ASRY said that the launch is part of a wider project to build and hand over two self-propelled fuel vessels to Bapco Refining.
NYK names new dual-fuel LPG carrier
Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) christened its newest very large gas carrier (VLGC) in a ceremony on Tuesday, August 5.
Luna Pathfinder was built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries. The dual-fuel LPG carrier will be chartered by Astomos Energy Corporation for the domestic and global transport of LPG.
New Aframax tanker delivered to Performance Shipping
Athens-based Performance Shipping has taken delivery of a new Aframax tanker constructed by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding in China.
P. Massport is the first of three LNG-ready, 114,000DWT product/crude oil tankers ordered by Performance Shipping. The other two ships are scheduled for delivery between the third quarter of 2025 and early 2026.
QatarEnergy takes delivery of sixth LNG carrier in series
QatarEnergy took delivery of its newest LNG carrier in a ceremony in Shanghai on Wednesday, July 30.
Al Mas’habiyyah is the sixth ship in a series of LNG carriers built by China's Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding for QatarEnergy. Sister ships Rex Tillerson, Umm Ghuwailina and Hlaitan were handed over in 2024 while Limail and Al Tuwar were delivered earlier this year.
TotalEnergies' newest LNG bunkering vessel hits the water
China's Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding launched a new LNG bunkering vessel on Tuesday, July 29.
The vessel will be a near identical sister of the LNG bunkering vessels Gas Agility and Gas Vitality and will also be operated under charter by TotalEnergies. Ownership of the vessel will remain with Spanish shipping company Ibaizabal.
