Netherlands-based Royal T Shipyards has delivered the shortsea cargo vessel Hav Fles to Faroese operator Navigare Shipping following the completion of sea trials.
Navigare said the handover took place in Kampen in the Netherlands on Wednesday, October 21. The vessel was then to proceed to Rotterdam to load her first cargo before entering commercial service.
Hav Fles is the second in a series of four vessels ordered by Navigare. Sister vessel Hav Leiti is already in service, while construction of the remaining two ships continues.
Four generators supply the vessel's propulsion in a diesel-electric configuration, allowing power generation to be matched to operational demand. The builder said she can remain underway using one generator during certain emergency situations.
Self-discharging capability is provided by an electrically powered excavator. When the vessel receives power from an appropriate shore supply, the cargo handling equipment can function without relying on the diesel generators.
A covered foredeck provides weather protection, while the crew can use the bridge wing control stations to operate the systems they need during berthing and departure. Accommodation is provided for 10 crew.
Navigare signed the four-vessel contract in October 2024 with the builder, then still operating as Thecla Bodewes Shipyards. It was the operator's first newbuild order.
The keel of Hav Fles was laid in July 2025. The series was designed in-house by the shipyard and is built to Bureau Veritas class requirements and IMO Tier III standards.
