Hapag-Lloyd orders six additional LNG dual-fuel ULCVs

Hapag-Lloyd has commissioned South Korean shipyard Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) to build six ultra large container vessels (ULCVs), each with a capacity of over 23,500 TEUs.

These will be from the same series as first six vessels that Hapag-Lloyd ordered from the same shipyard at the end of 2020.

The ULCVs will be powered by dual-fuel engines that can operate on either LNG or conventional marine fuel.
