Spanish shipbuilder Navantia has laid the keel of the future Roger de Lauria, the second F110-class frigate ordered by the Spanish Navy, at its facilities in Ferrol.

On the same day, Navantia cut the first steel to be used in the construction of the future Menéndez de Avilés, the third ship in the class.

South Korea's HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) and Peruvian state-owned shipbuilder SIMA have entered into a memorandum of agreement (MOA) wherein the two companies will cooperate on the development of a new type of diesel-electric submarine.

The MOA stipulates that HHI and SIMA will develop a modified variant of HHI's 1,500-tonne "mid-sized" submarine design.

Austal Australia has successfully launched the future ADV Cape Spencer, the ninth Evolved Cape-class patrol boat ordered by the Royal Australian Navy (RAN).

Upon completion, the aluminium monohulled newbuild will have an LOA of 57.8 metres, a beam of 10.3 metres, a draught of approximately three metres, and accommodation for 32 crewmembers and other personnel.

Austal USA has begun construction of a new landing craft utility (LCU) ordered by the US Navy.

The future LCU 1712 will be one of twelve LCU 1700-class LCUs to be built by Austal USA for the US Navy. The company was awarded an initial contract for the construction of three LCUs, with options for an additional nine vessels, in September 2023.

US Marine Corps signs order for 30 amphibious combat vehicles

BAE Systems has been awarded a $188.5 million contract from the US Marine Corps for 30 amphibious combat vehicles (ACVs) equipped with 30mm turrets. The contract includes fielding support, spares and test equipment.

The ACVs include an integrated medium caliber remote turret system which the government is procuring separately and integrating at Naval Information Warfare Integration Center Atlantic.
