Rosmorport took delivery of Aleut, the third project RST38 bilge water collection vessel, at Okskaya Shipyard in Navashino, Nizhny Novgorod region, on Thursday, November 5.
The vessel was built for Rosmorport's North-Western Basin Branch. The company said she will shortly be sent to the branch and is planned to begin work at the Port of St Petersburg before the end of 2026. When Aleut was launched on December 18, 2025, Rosmorport had expected her to operate at Ust-Luga.
Aleut has a total tank capacity of 515 cubic metres. This comprises 371 cubic metres for bilge water, 63 cubic metres for sewage, 27 cubic metres for oil residues and 54 cubic metres for cleaned water.
The vessel collects oily water from ships, then settles and separates it. Oil residues are transported to storage, while cleaned water is returned ashore or discharged overboard in permitted areas.
She can also collect sewage and garbage for transport to shore-based treatment facilities. Her Ice3 notation covers both hull and machinery, allowing year-round operation.
Rosmorport said that with appropriate modification, the RST38 vessels can carry oil-spill recovery equipment and containment booms to a spill site, operating outside the slick. For this purpose they are fitted with an oil-spill detection system that processes data from the standard radar using additional software.
Aleut has a length overall of 49.19 metres, a beam of 8.82 metres and a draught of three metres. She has a speed of nine knots at 85 per cent maximum continuous rating and a crew of six.
Sister vessels Koporye and Koppi entered service in August 2024 and now operate at Ust-Luga and Vanino respectively. Koporye returned to service last year after an autonomous navigation retrofit.
