Viking Cruises has taken delivery of Viking Rota, a 190-guest river cruise ship that will operate on the Rhine, Main and Danube Rivers in Europe.

Built by Germany's Nepturn Werft, the vessel is the latest addition to the company’s “longship” fleet. She has 95 staterooms and a Scandinavian-inspired interior design.

Viking said the vessel’s design uses a patented bow with a square profile to make space for three full decks, alongside corridors with an asymmetric design that make two-room suites possible. Passenger facilities include a terrace that provides both indoor and outdoor space.

Viking Rota‘s itineraries will include routes between Basel and Amsterdam, Budapest and Amsterdam, and Budapest and Passau, alongside round-trip departures from Amsterdam.

Viking’s recent vessel additions also include one of Viking Rota’s sister ships, the 190-guest Viking Dagur, which is also intended for Rhine, Main and Danube itineraries.

The company expects to take delivery of 18 additional river cruise ships within the next two years.
