Samsung signed a contract to build 12 7MW offshore wind turbine units earlier this month, with a special purpose company invested by Samsung and KOSPO.
The Geojae-based builder plans to finalise the construction by the end of 2014, which enables to start commercial operation from 2015.
Moreover, since KOSPO plans to expand the complex up to 200MW, and Samsung is expected to undertake these additional contracts also.
Displaying its burgeoning capability in offshore wind technology, Samsung will be in charge of engineering, procurement, construction and installation of turbines, as well as jacket-type wind turbine foundation.
