Thailand's Uniwise Offshore taps local yard for new trimaran crewboat
Uniwise Offshore, a Thailand-based vessel operating company under Singapore's MEO Group, has selected local shipbuilder Marsun for the construction of a new fast crewboat.
The vessel will utilise a trimaran design for improved stability, including during transfers of personnel to and from offshore platforms at significant wave heights of 2.5 metres.
China Railway Construction Corporation welcomes new crane vessel into service
China Railway Construction Corporation has taken delivery of a new crane vessel built by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC).
Tiejian Qizhong 5000 ("Tiejian Crane 5000") will be operated by China Railway Construction Port and Shipping Bureau out of Nantong in Jiangsu province. It is capable of both transporting and lifting heavy marine components, making it suitable for offshore installation and marine construction projects.
The vessel is fitted with three 3,000kW azimuthing thrusters, three 2,500kW bow thrusters, a DP2 system, and a crane with a lifting capacity of 5,000 tonnes when stationary and 3,500 tonnes when freely rotating. The propulsion delivers a service speed of eight knots.
Surface effect crewboat delivered to All Energies Services
Singaporean shipyard Strategic Marine has delivered its first surface effect ship (SES) to Dutch operator All Energies Services, in collaboration with Aircat Vessels and Espeland and Skomedal Naval Architects (ESNA).
The 35-metre SES, designed specifically for offshore crew transfer operations, reaches speeds of over 50 knots and offers offshore transfers in challenging sea conditions.
Chevalier Floatels taps Norwegian firm for design work on offshore construction support vessel
Netherlands-based Chevalier Floatels has entered into an agreement with Norwegian naval architecture firm Marin Teknikk for design and engineering in connection with an offshore construction support vessel (OCSV).
The vessel's hull was built in Spain and utilises a Marin Teknikk design. Chevalier Floatels purchased the hull from its previous owners and had it towed to the Netherlands for completion at the Hardinxveld facilities of the Holland Shipyards Group.
UK's NR Marine takes delivery of first vessel in new crewboat class
NR Marine Services has taken delivery of NR Rival, the first in a new class of crewboats designed by Walker Marine Design and built in the UK by Diverse Marine.
NR Rival measures 25 metres LOA. Its quad IPS system gives it a top speed of over 30 knots, and coupled with a transom-mounted hull vane, offers efficient fuel consumption at cruising speeds.
Vietnamese yard launches Windcat Offshore's newest hydrogen-powered CSOV
Ha Long Shipbuilding in Vietnam has floated out the second unit in a new series of six commissioning service operation vessels (CSOVs) ordered by Dutch operator Windcat Offshore.
The design work on all six CSOVs is a collaboration between Windcat and Belgian engineering firm CMB.Tech. Each vessel will measure 87 by 20 metres and will have accommodation for 120 people, a maximum endurance of 30 days, and a hybrid electric propulsion system that will use hydrogen as its main fuel.
Heerema to build float-over barge for the installation of offshore sub-stations
Heerema Marine Contractors has signed a contract with TenneT for the delivery of a new float-over barge, tailored to install more than 30,000 mT two-gigawatt offshore substations (OSS) for the expansion of the Dutch and German electricity grids.
The new barge will support the installation of ultra heavy topsides, such as TenneT’s 2GW topsides, supporting the expansion of renewable energy capacity and reinforcing our commitment to innovation and sustainability in the maritime and energy sectors.
