Corvus Energy has been selected to supply 5,288kWh battery packs for three harbour tugs that will be operated by Canada’s HaiSea Marine.

The Robert Allan Ltd-designed tugs will be built by Sanmar Shipyards of Turkey. They will provide berthing/unberthing assistance for LNG carriers at the LNG Canada export terminal in Kitimat, British Columbia, following commissioning of the plant around the middle of the decade.

The tugs are scheduled to enter service with HaiSea Marine in 2023.
