Havbryn, a fishing company based in Norway's Vesterålen archipelago, recently took delivery of a new stern and pelagic trawler designed and built by Vard.
The vessel, which is also named Havbryn, is outfitted for both semi-pelagic and bottom trawling operations with gentle handling to meet the latest demands for fish health management, efficiency, and environment-friendly operations.
The trawler has a length of 80.4 metres, a beam of 16.7 metres, and a factory capable of producing cut gutted fish as well as fish meal and oil. The vessel's hull has been strengthened in compliance with ice class 1A requirements.
A cargo space will hold both refrigerated and frozen products while ensilage tanks will be fitted for processing of biomass ashore, further maximising resource utilisation. The crew accommodation spaces meanwhile include cabins, a day room, a mess, and a gym.
Havbryn will replace a similarly named vessel that was delivered to the same owner in 2013.
