Padmos Shipyard has handed over a new fly-shooter/twin-rig trawler to Urk fisherman Klaas van den Berg.

The 24.95- by 8.5-metre Hendrika Jacoba is also the first newbuild ever to be acquired by the owner, who has been in business for forty years and whose fleet had until recently consisted only of secondhand vessels.

Construction of the hull took place at the facilities of Padmos’ sister company Casco and Sectiebouw Rotterdam (CSR) while Padmos served as the project’s main contractor and also handled the final outfitting. C-Job and the Marine Research Institute of the Netherlands (MARIN) provided the design work.

Hendrika Jacoba has one main and one auxiliary engine, both supplied by Mitsubishi.
